Thank you to all who voted. I made it to the Paper Crafts Gallery Idol Top 10!!! Now onto a new challenge. The challenge for Round 4:
"The theme comes from our special issue, Practical Solutions for Paper Crafters; the theme is household items! That means we’d like you to make cards with things found around the house—rubber bands, bread tabs, cupcake liners, paper towel tubes, and repositionable notes are a few that are found in Practical Solutions for Paper Crafters! So find a household item and use it on your card!"
I have been traveling since this theme was announced on Friday as I was heading to Washington DC to spend Father's Day weekend with my dad and the rest of my family, and I am still in town for work. I brought the essentials (adhesive, scissors, cardstock, black ink, a few favorite Hero Arts clear sets and a trimmer). I took a ride to Target this afternoon after my family left for some inspiration and looked in the office supply aisle (but I did not see anything really new), and the household aisle and looked for some objects that I really do have in my house. Then I saw these:
These are something I do buy and I thought maybe I could make them into fun flowers with a little creative cutting. Once I got to playing around and looking at the limited stamp sets I had, I decided to turn them into an "ocean" by mixing the bags which are green and blue. Not sure if it is the most originial card in this round, but I bet it is one of the best smelling!
I really like how the bags make the wavy look of the ocean. Here is a closer peek:
The bags were cut in strips then wrapped around a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 panel. I like that they make folds to stick the cut out shapes it. This card is really fun in real life. If you have read this far, I hope I will get your vote in the next round. You can go here to vote! Now to clean up my hotel room a bit, it definitely got messy!
Thank you again for your vote and to all of you that told a friend! I really do appreciate you all taking the time to help me on this Gallery Idol journey. Here is the link to vote for me!

Oh, my goodness, Cheiron! I am so impressed! Being away from home like that, during this round, you really needed to get creative . . . . and YOU DID!! This is so much fun! Those plastic bags make the perfect waves – well done!! Good luck to you! 🙂

I love everything and anything ocean-related, but this card is wonderfully special – great wave action! Wish I could smell it. Darn cute and creative, Cheiron!
You made this on the road!?! Oh my Cheiron you are truly a crafting queen!!! Very original and I bet it does smell the best out of the bunch 🙂
Oh wow! This is absolutely amazing? Trash bags? NO WAY! LOL!
You got my vote, Cheiron!! Great job – love all the textures!
This is so funny, you made me think of Cathy Fong who I think last year was also stuck in a hotel room while participating in a challenge! I love what you did with the trash bags, wow, really creative! I just love the texture! At least you made sure you were comfortable doing it with a Starbucks nearby! 🙂 Good luck with the challenge!
This card is just amazing on SO many levels. WOW… the pressure alone is enough, but to also be out of town, AND a ‘household items’ challenge?? All I can say is, you’re my hero. 🙂
