simon says stamp monday challenge: stitch it

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for joining us for the Stencil It Challenge and we hope you will join us again this week too. This week our challenge theme is Stitch it and I have created a mixed media tag complete with stitched edges.

To create my tag, I cut a tag die from White Mixed Media Heavystock. I used the Tim Holtz Autumn stencil along with some Distress Matte Texture Paste on my tag. Once the paste was dry I sprayed the tag with some water using my Distress Sprayer and then added Distress Spray Stains in Scattered Straw, Kitsch Flamingo and Rusty Hinge. I inked the edges of the tag with Black Soot Distress Ink, and stamped the tag with images from the Field Notes and Faded Type stamp sets. Then I ran the tag through my sewing machine and stitched around the edges.

To complete my tag, I added a Photobooth photo that I colored with DIstress Crayons, a Clippings sticker and some leaves from the SIzzixFunky Foliage die set that I cut out then embossed with Distress Embossing Glaze to make them shiny. I added some Distress Mica Stain splatter in Crooked Broomstick over the entire tag as a finishing touch.
