simon says stamp monday challenge: add some texture

Hi crafty friends, welcome to this week’s Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! Thank you for joining us for the Spring Mood Board Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too. This week we are have an All About Texture theme and the design team is using Stamperia products. You don’t need to use them to play along, but if you have some, we’d love it if you did.

For my card this week, I started off by using Dina Wakley Cotton Watercolor Paper for my card base, which has a great textured surface. I sprayed it with Gloss Sprays in Turquoise, Ocean and Olive.

Once the sprays were dried, I added additional layers of texture by painting Magenta Dina Wakley Media Paint onto the Spaced Dots stencil, spraying it with water and “printing” it onto my surface. When that was dry I applied Cheddar paint through the Tim Holtz Digits stencil using a foam blending tool

To finish the card, I used a piece of Collage Collective 2 (Vol 2) as a focal image, and used stamps from the Collaged Hearts set. To give the card tons of shimmer and shine, I used Stamperia Gold Glamour pigment mixed with water and applied drips and splats all over my card to give it lots of interest.

As you may know, the Simon Says Stamp Store is accepting new orders, but have longer shipping times for the moment due to the coronavirus. With this in mind we have made the difficult decision to suspend the $50 voucher for this challenge.

We know that many people are staying safe at home and we would love it if you would continue to enter the challenges and have fun! We are all in this together!

So now it’s YOUR turn, Happy Crafting
