Hi there! I'll be teaching a couple of classes for The Ink Pad in June, on Sunday the 11th. These classes will be held at the Westbeth Community Room. Come and join me to learn all about Distress Oxides in the morning, then to create a technique filled mixed media panel in the afternoon. As always, please call the shop to sign up at 212-463-9876!

Distress Oxide Exploration 10am-1pm

What are Distress Oxides? What makes them different then all of the other inks that you already own? How do the work with the other products in the Ranger Distress Line? Join Cheiron for a morning of experimental play and discovery to learn the answers to these questions. We will explore the properties of Distress Oxides through hands on techniques, and create a few cards with stunning backgrounds too!

Student required supplies: non-stick craft sheet, Distress Sprayer (or mini mister), paper towels, detail scissors, glue runner and foam tape

Distress Mixed Media Techniques Tag 1:30-5:30pm

In this mixed media technique class, Cheiron will show you how to take all of those Ranger Distress Products you've been collecting and help you get started making art. You will be creating on one of Tim Holtz's newest surfaces, the Etcetera tag (finished tag is approximately 6 1/2" X 12"). This project will be perfect to hang up in your studio or creative space. We will create a layered background using pastes, stamps, die cuts and stencils, then the tag will be altered with Distress Oxides, Crayons, and other Ranger mediums. Idea-ology and other ephemera will add the perfect finishing touch! Even the beginner will be able to learn skills they can use to start making their own mixed media art. Most supplies (except for a few basics) will be provided.

Student required supplies: heat tool (Cheiron prefers the Ranger tool for mixed media), apron, paintbrushes in a few sizes, container for paint water, non-stick craft sheet, baby wipes, paper towels
