happy 10th blogiversary jenn shurkus!!!

Today I am so thrilled to be part of the celebration of the 10th Blogiversary of my very dear and talented creative friend Jenn Shurkus. If you don't know her, you should stop on over to her blog and take a look at her wonderful work. Jenn is a card maker, mixed media artist and wonderful teacher – she hosts fabulous Loft Art Retreats at her loft in Rhode Island. If you ever have the chance to spend the day at one of these retreats, do it – they are so much fun!

I love all of Jenn's creations, especially her mixed media work. Her altered canvases (which she also sells on etsy) are some of my favorites, and this FOCUS canvas has to be my favorite yet. I love every thing about it (especially the colors) and loved this step by step post by Jenn on how to create it. Besides being a great artist, she is also a great teacher:

I would have never tried mixed media projects or ventured into the world of "artsy fartsy" if it weren't for Jenn. She has always encouraged me to take classes, get messy, and not to be afraid of making a mistake. Thanks so much Jenn and Happy 10th! Can't wait to see what you create in the next 10 years :)
