simon says stamp monday challenge: use at least one stencil

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for playing along with us last week in the Art Journal challenge and we hope you will join us again this week too 🙂 This week we are challenging you to USE ONE STENCIL…and I have used one of my favorite stencils, the Floral layering stencil from Tim Holtz.

To start my tag, I added a piece of Typeset collage paper, then gessoed over the tag.  I used texture paste through my stencil and when it was dry, I put the cleaned stencil back over the paste and painted on the flowers and leaves using Saltwater Taffy and Rustic Wilderness Distress paints. I love this combo over my gessoed and distressed background.

To finish my tag, I added some Ephemera and some stitching around the edges. Then I added a Photobooth image and a small talk sticker, and a piece of Mummy Cloth colored with Saltwater Taffy DIstress Spray Stain.
