It’s a Valentine Blog Hop over at shurkus.com from February 1-14! There are prizes to be won. Just remember to comment on the featured blog for the day on the hop. The more LOVE you leave, the better chance you have to win!
If you have not checked out Jenn Shurkus’s blog or etsy shop before, you definitely should stop by and take a peek. Jenn has been a crafty friend for several years now and I love that we are able to see each other a few times a year to take crafty classes together. I am thrilled to be particpating in her hop, and she has 14 days of fantastic and inspirational designers lined up to show you projects to celebrate Valentine’s day. I am primarily a card maker, but over the years I have taken some “artsy fartsy” classes from Jenn, and we have taken some classes together and I have enjoyed each and every one of them.
I recently got a gelli plate and have been having a great time making print after print after print. I thought I’d share a few cards with you today that feature parts of prints I made in Valentine’s colors and a little look at my printmaking process.
Here is a card with a simple printed background:
I love the texture I got by scraping into the paint on my gelli plate:
And a couple of cards using die cuts that were cut from the printed paper:
Be sure to bookmark Jenn’s blog so you can see the rest of the Valentine’s inspiration…or check out the blog of the tremendously talented Elena Roussakis tomorrow! I am sure she has something awesome planned for you.
Here is a peek into how these Valentine prints came about:
And just a few of the finished prints:
