Hello there crafty friends! I am thrilled to be sharing some projects with you today using the latest color in the Tim Holtz Distress line, Scorched Timber! I have a new You Tube Video up today going over this color and the projects as well if you would like to check it out. I have 8!! different projects for you today using this new color…

Cheiron ST 8

For the first set of cards, I used the Scorched Timber Distress Embossing Glaze, stamped the stamps from the Bold Botanicals in Versamark Ink onto DIstress Watercolor Cardstock and then heat set the embossing glaze. Once it was cooled I sprayed each panel with Distress Mica Stains. I used Shiny Bauble, Cocktail Party, Flickering Candle and Merry Mint. To finish these cards I mounted them onto Distress Kraft Heavystock and then added a Quote Chip Label to each one.

For this card, I stamped and embossed the florals from the Floral Trims set in Gold Embossing Powder and did the same for the circle and sentiment from the Note Quotes Set. Once they were cool I sprayed them with the Scorched Timber Distress Spray Stain. To create the background paper for the card, I used a piece of Distress Watercolor Cardstock and sprayed that with the stain to coordinate. I added a splatter of Gilded Foundry Wax over the entire panel.

For this project, I created a small Etcetera tag. This one I covered with a piece of Idea-ology backdrops and then added some gesso over it. I added lots of abstract painting with Distress Paints, then I stamped with the same colors of Distress Oxides. For the Perspective Butterfly, I embossed it with Scorched Timber Distress Embossing Glaze to make it stand out. I added splatter to the tag with the Scorched Timber Distress Paint and painted the papers for the words on my Bold Text 1 saying in Evergreen Bough and Saltwater Taffy

For the next card, I cut the Paper Cut Bird and colored it by going direct to paper with the Scorched Timber Distress Ink Pad. I adhered it to a piece of acetate, then turned the piece over and painted on the back with Distress Paints. I stitched the panel to a piece of white cardstock and added a ton of sequins into the card.

These are one of my favorite cards to make using he brushstrokes stamps to explore color. The color combos for these Distress Embossing Glaze Cards are Scorched Timber and Salvaged Patina and Antique Linen, Peeled Paint and Fossilized Amber, Cracked Pistachio and Kitsch Flamingo, and Saltwater Taffy and Seedless Preserves. The words are from the Shadow Script Thinlits.

For this card, I created a bunch of painted papers using Distress Paint in all the pinks and purples: Scorched Timber, Kitsch Flamingo, Villainous Purple, Dusty Concord, and Tattered Rose

Cheiron ST 5
For this card, I used the Layered Dots die and sprayed it with Scorched Timber Distress Oxide. I sprayed the bottom two panels with Distress Mica Stains in Bubbling Cauldron and Holly Branch and I LOVE how this color looks with greens…

Fot the last card, I always love to play with some ink blends. I created this one using Scorched Timber Distress Oxide Ink. I put down my Moon Mask, then I blended Scorched Timber, Brushed Corduroy, Carved Pumpkin, Worn Lipstick, and Aged Mahogany. I added some splatter to the panel. Then I used the Scorched Timber Distress Watercolor Pencil to trace in the “craters” on the moon.

Hope you enjoyed these projects! I love this new color so much and hope you will too 🙂
