Hi there creative friends! Sharing the first of several makes today using the newest color in the Distress line, Saltwater Taffy. I created so many cards with this new color, I will have a new one to share with you every day for the next week, so be sure to check back. This one was super easy to create. To begin, I cut a card panel and the Sizzix Simple Plaid die from Distress Watercolor Cardstock. I used the smooth side as the top for both pieces. I adhered them together using Distress Collage Medium. Once the pieces were adhered and dry, I ink blended over them using Saltwater Taffy Distress Oxide.
To create the flowers, I stamped the flowers from the Flower Garden stamp set in Broken China Distress Oxide then quickly smudged the flowers with a foam ink blending tool. I took a detailer water brush and extended the color in some places. I stamped each flower twice and layered them with foam tape. For the leaves, I cut a few leaves from the Funky Florals 1 dies in similar colors of blue. To create the chunky gold splatter, I sprayed on some Distress Resist Spray (inside a splat box – and no where else…this stuff is super sticky) then added gold embossing power on top and once it was dry, I embossed the powder for the chunky look you see here.
To finish the card, I added the flowers with foam tape and a simple sentiment from the Idea-ology Quotations Metallic Stickers.
