simon says stamp monday challenge: touchy feely
Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for joining us for the Stitch It Challenge and we hope you will join us again this week too. This week our challenge theme is Touchy Feely and I have created a card using the adorable Tim Holtz Sizzix Mr. Frost die and I cut him out of some fun textured papers to make him come to life!
To create this card, I first cut all the pieces out for Mr. Frost. I cut out his body from some textured foam from my stash and cut the black “coal” pieces from a sheet of black craft foam which I inlaid into the body die cut. I cut his scarf from a piece of Sizzix Festive felt.
I assembled all the pieces of Mr. Frost, then added foam tape to the background to pop him up. To create the background, I cut a panel of Distress Watercolor cardstock, then I added some Matte Distress Texture Paste through the Snowflakes layering stencil.
Once the texture paste was dry, I sprayed the panel with a Distress Sprayer filled with water and then sprayed Distress Mica Stains in Snowflurries and Frosted Juniper. When the stain was dry, I blotted the raised snowflakes with a damp baby wipe to pull off some of the blue color to reveal more white.
To finish the card, I added the die cut word joy from the Sizzix Festive Words dies cut from Jewels Metallic Kraftstock. Hope you liked this fun textured card!
