simon says stamp monday challenge: make your own background

Hi crafty friends, it's time for another challenge over one the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us in last week's Stars and Stripes Challenge and we hope you will join us this week too as we mace our own backgrounds. This week the Design Team is using products from Paper Artsy and I hope you will use some too if you have them.

For my card this week, I've created a background in the easiest way possible, stamping a beautiful Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Botanical Sketch stamp with Gina K Skeleton Leaves Amalgam Ink and used Distress Inks and Oxides with a Tim Holtz Detailer Waterbrush to color it in.

When the watercolor panel was dry, I used Paper Artsy Fresco Finish Old Gold Metallic Paint to go over all the tiny "dots" on the image. When that was dry, I stamped and embossed the Friend sentiment in gold. I also put some of the gold paint on my finger and went around the edge of the panel to give it a glided edge.

I stamped the I miss you from the Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Crazy Talk set with white embossing powder onto Lawn Fawn Ground Coffee cardstock, then adhered the panel to a note card with foam tape. I fussy cut the sentiment out and added it to the panel with a super thin piece of foam tape.

As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store!
