tim holtz/stampers anonymous: monster reunion

Someone say candy 1
Hi there crafty friends! Today I am sharing another make from the most recent Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous release for Halloween. This time I am using the Monster Reunion set that contains some adorable monster images and sentiments to match along with the Dots and Circles set. The monster images come with the sentiments attached to each image, but I have already cut the images and sentiments apart so I can mix and match them.

For my card today, I used the Frankenstein looking monster and colored him in with fun, happy colors using Distress Markers and a Detailer waterbrush. To make the red hearts on his socks, I used a trick I learned in a class from Wendy Vecchi several years ago and dipped a stylus into some Carnation Red Enamel Accents and used the point of the stylus to draw in the hearts.

To create the background, I put some Distress Inks in Pumice Stone and Hickory Smoke onto a non-stick craft sheet and sprayed them with water and swiped my paper through it to create some interest on the background. Then I inked the dots stamp with Hickory Smoke Ink and stamped it on the panel. To create the layered look, I simply cut the center of the panel with a rectangle die, then added a slightly bigger piece of Ranger Alcohol Ink Matte Black cardstock behind the inner panel, then adhered it all back together as one piece. I love the look of this technique with a patterned background. I hope you enjoyed this fun card!
