Hello crafty friends and welcome to Day 2 of the Simon Says Stamp Crafty Hugs Blog Hop! I am so thrilled to be participating in this hop and sharing some cards using the new release with you today. I made 2 completely different types of cards for you today. The first uses the new Hibiscus Bloom die. This die is big and beautiful and I made a 5 x 7 card with it using lots of bright watercolors. To create this card, I cut 3 of the Hibiscus Bloom and stacked them together to make a dimensional element, and adhered it to my card panel. Then I watercolored in and around the die cut creating several layers of color. When the paint was dry, I added some splatter of gold metallic spray and a CZ Design sentiment strip to finish the card. Super bright and super messy layers, but I love how it came together!
For my next card, I did A LOT of Copic coloring, and I found it super relaxing to create. I used the Work of Heart set to create a card with a very special thank you message for an ER nurse that I know. I stamped the sentiments in the center of the card, then I stamped the other images from the set all around the sentiment to create a pattern. I started with the largest images and then filled in the pattern with the tiny hearts and colored it all in. When the coloring was done, I outlined all of the shapes with a Cool Grey marker and then added a little color to the sentiment itself.
